Title: Business Development Director

QuantumScape is on a mission to transform energy storage with solid-state lithium-metal battery technology. The company’s next-generation batteries are designed to enable greater energy density, faster charging and enhanced safety to support the transition away from legacy energy sources toward a lower carbon future.
What we need: Under the direction of the Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer, you will work directly with customers to help put this technology on the road.
What you will do:
- Developing and executing a comprehensive sales and partnership strategy for the energy storage market, including identifying target customers, segments, and regions
- Building and maintaining a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities and closing deals to meet and exceed targets
- Develop deal structures and support negotiating contracts and agreements with customers and partners, ensuring alignment with company objectives and value proposition
- Establishing and enhancing the company's brand awareness and reputation
- Work cross-functionally to understand details of the internal technical status and direction with various technical teams across QuantumScape which will require in person discussion
- Collaborate and maintain relationships with company leadership to formulate and execute a go-to-market strategy
Skills You’ll need:
- B.S. in Technical or Business Field and a minimum of 12 years' industry
- Experience in a customer-facing role establishing and building meaningful relationships with new perspective customers
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong technical and business acumen
- Preference to candidates with experience in energy storage and/or clean energy
- This role will require international travel
Nice to have:
- M.B.A.
- Fluency in written & spoken German and/or Japanese
ONSITE: This position is required to work onsite 5 days per week to meet the minimum essential duties and requirements of this position. As an on-site R&D and manufacturing operations organization, in-person face to face interaction is essential to building authentic relationships, trust, teamwork, and collaboration.
Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role is between $195,600- $273,834, a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
