What we are Seeking:

We are seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to oversee and lead our IT operations, ensuring the alignment of technology initiatives with business goals. The CIO will play a pivotal role in shaping our technological infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency as the company advances from prototype to product commercialization. This role reports to the CFO and requires a blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and hands-on leadership to support our growth trajectory and drive continuous improvement in all areas of IT.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Leadership and Business Partnership:

  • Develop and implement an IT strategy that aligns with the company's business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to understand their technology needs and deliver solutions.
  • Act as a key advisor to the executive team on emerging enterprise technologies and digital opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and innovation.

 

IT Operations Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring reliable and efficient IT services.
  • Manage IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, and systems to support business operations and growth.
  • Ensure robust cybersecurity measures and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

 

Project and Program Management:

  • Lead and manage IT projects, including ERP module implementation
  • Ensure successful delivery of IT projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and agile project management.

 

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the IT department.
  • Oversee talent development and succession planning for the IT function.

 

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial goals.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and relationships to optimize cost and service delivery.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 20 years of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing or high-tech environment.
  • Automotive or battery experience a plus.
  • Proven track record of leading IT strategy and operations, ideally in a publicly traded company.
  • Strong experience with ERP systems (especially SAP S/4HANA), manufacturing execution systems (MES), and other enterprise applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.

 

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role is between $263,000- $330,000, a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
