Role Overview:
The Director of Capital Markets at QuantumScape is a senior leadership position responsible for developing and executing the company’s capital strategy, managing investor relations, and serving as a key representative of QuantumScape to the investment community. This role sits on the executive staff and acts as the voice of investors and corporate value, ensuring that the company’s capital market activities align with its long-term strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute QuantumScape’s capital markets strategy, including optimizing capital structure, evaluating financing opportunities, and supporting strategic growth initiatives.
Serve as the primary liaison between QuantumScape and the investment community-including institutional investors, retail investors, investment bank analysts, and rating agencies-ensuring consistent, transparent communication of corporate developments and financial results.
Oversee all day-to-day investor relations activities, including the preparation and delivery of investor communications, earnings materials, and regulatory disclosures.
Lead the quarterly reporting process, including coordination and preparation of board materials, drafting the shareholder letter, organizing and preparing for the earnings call and analyst Q&A, and managing analyst call backs.
Represent QuantumScape at investor conferences, industry events, and public forums, effectively communicating the company’s vision, strategy, and performance.
Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to investor outreach, governance scores, shareholder composition, and market sentiment, providing actionable insights to the executive team-including support of our strategic long range plan and annual operating plan.
Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, strategy, sales, product, engineering, legal, marketing, and executive teams to ensure alignment of capital markets activities with overall business strategy.
Support compliance with all relevant financial regulations, disclosure requirements, and best practices in corporate governance.
Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, bringing the investor perspective to strategic decision-making and corporate messaging.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, economics, business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Technical degree in science or engineering is a plus.
10+ years of experience in capital markets, investor relations, investment banking, or a related field, with a proven track record of leadership and execution.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to represent QuantumScape credibly to sophisticated financial audiences.
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and project management abilities, with experience in financial modeling and capital markets transactions.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with investors, analysts, and internal stakeholders.
Deep understanding of public company governance, disclosure, and regulatory requirements.
ONSITE: This position is required to work onsite 5 days per week to meet the minimum essential duties and requirements of this position. As an on-site R&D and manufacturing operations organization, in-person face to face interaction is essential to building authentic relationships, trust, teamwork, and collaboration.
Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role has a range of $179,400 to $287,000 and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
