About the team: The Product Management team is a multidisciplinary group of engineers and strategists who translate QuantumScape’s groundbreaking solid‑state battery technology into differentiated products that meet real customer and market needs. We partner closely with R&D, Engineering, Business Development, and Marketing to define product requirements, prioritize features, and ensure seamless alignment from concept through commercialization. What we need: We are seeking a technically savvy, analytically minded Product Manager who is excited about shaping the next generation of QuantumScape’s battery products. In this role, you will drive the creation of MRDs and PRDs, define performance and design requirements rooted in robust datasets, and serve as a key liaison between Product, R&D, Engineering, and business stakeholders. You’ll play a central role in shaping our product roadmap, ensuring our technology aligns with customer needs, competitive benchmarks, and market opportunities.

What You’ll do:
- Own the product strategy and requirements framework for one or more key market segments, driving the development and governance of Market Requirements Documents and Product Requirements Documents across the QuantumScape portfolio. Set the bar for quality, rigor, and cross-functional alignment on product specifications.
- Serve as the organizational authority on technical product requirements across lithium-ion and next-generation energy storage technologies. Define competitive positioning frameworks and lead ongoing assessment of the competitive landscape to inform product differentiation and roadmap decisions.
- Drive strategic alignment across Product, R&D, Engineering, and Business Development at a senior level. Operate with significant autonomy to resolve cross-functional ambiguity, unblock decisions, and ensure the organization is building toward the right outcomes.
- Own and lead the development of QuantumScape's product roadmap for assigned segments, integrating technology maturation, customer needs, and market opportunities into a coherent, prioritized strategy. Present roadmap direction and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Identify and lead strategic product initiatives that go beyond current roadmap scope, proactively surfacing new market opportunities, adjacencies, or capability gaps that represent meaningful growth or differentiation for QuantumScape.
Skills You’ll Need:
- B.A./B.S. required preferably in engineering, engineering management, engineering operations, or related business field
- 4+ Years experience of product management experience, preferably in the lithium-ion industry or adjacent field
- Application of scientific programming (e.g., Python) and statistical methods to analyze large datasets
- Must have highly developed written and verbal cross-functional communication skills with the ability to tackle complex challenges in a fast-changing environment
Nice to have:
- Strong understanding of current lithium-ion technology and performance capability, the current competitive landscape, and application-specific performance requirements
- Experience with PLM systems

ONSITE: This position is required to work onsite 5 days per week to meet the minimum essential duties and requirements of this position. As an on-site R&D and manufacturing operations organization, in-person face to face interaction is essential to building authentic relationships, trust, teamwork, and collaboration.
Compensation & Benefits: Expected salary range for this role is from $156,000 to $210,000, and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other benefits.
