What we need: Our team plays a hands-on role in shaping how quality is defined, measured, and maintained across the organization. QuantumScape is seeking a motivated Associate Member of Technical Staff for our Quality Engineering team. You will be playing a vital role in ensuring process capability, stability, inline process quality test, continuous improvement, and quality metrics and reporting. What You’ll do:
- Incoming Quality Control (IQC): Verifying that materials from suppliers meet our quality standards before they enter production.
- Measurement System Analysis & Gauge R&R: Ensuring our data is reliable and our tools are accurate.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Cleanroom Compliance: Setting and maintaining standards to ensure our production environment meets strict cleanliness requirements.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC): Monitoring baseline processes to catch issues early and drive continuous improvement.
- Particle Monitoring: Tracking particles count in clean and dry rooms to prevent contamination.
Skills You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Hands-on experience in manufacturing desired.
- Proficient in core Quality Engineering tools: Measurement System Analysis, Gage R&R, SPC, Process Control Plans, SOPs, Traceability Systems, and Process Capability Analysis.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of negotiating requirements and timelines in cross-functional R&D environments.
- Disciplined approach to statistical methods for experiment design, data analysis, and process control.
- Familiarity with MES systems and quality management system requirements; experienced in developing and implementing control plan methodologies.
Nice to have:
- Experience with JMP or similar data analysis tools preferred.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent certification.
- Industry experience in lithium-ion battery manufacturing strongly preferred.
ONSITE: This position is required to work onsite 5 days per week to meet the minimum essential duties and requirements of this position. As an on-site R&D and manufacturing operations organization, in-person face to face interaction is essential to building authentic relationships, trust, teamwork, and collaboration.
Compensation & Benefits: Expected salary range for this role is from $66,050 to $105,700, and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other benefits.
