Title:  Senior Data Automation Engineer

QuantumScape developed the industry’s first anode-less cell design, which delivers high energy density while lowering material costs and simplifying manufacturing. Our innovative battery cell technology can store energy more efficiently and reliably than today’s lithium-ion batteries.

QuantumScape is looking for a Data Automation Engineer to implement an MES system at our QS0 battery factory in San Jose. The ideal candidate will have experience with the design, development, configuration, integration, implementation, and support of MES systems within a highly automated manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be part of an engineering team responsible for the implementation of a state-of-the-art MES system covering functional scope of order management, track and trace, SPC, and productivity monitoring.

Responsibilities:
Lead and support the integration of the MES system with external systems and automated equipment including process equipment, process control systems, data storage warehouses, and analytical analysis software.
Harmonization and coordination of efforts between other teams such as Manufacturing, Facilities Engineering, Maintenance, Manufacturing Services, R&D, IS, and EHS.
Support Manufacturing and Operations by providing strategic direction and tactical support. Tackle day-to-day issues, while providing guidance, coordination, and mentoring to a team of engineers.   

Desired Knowledge and Skills:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
•    Experience with MES data process automation, design, process improvement, and project management.
•    Proven experience with SCADA, MES, IIOT systems.
•    Skills necessary to work in a matrix organization with excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
•    Working in an Agile project management system.
•    Experience and exposure to highly automated manufacturing environments.
•    Experience with managing and leading complex projects
•    Preferred Technology Skills including:
      Python Scripting
      PostgreSQL Scripting
      HTML5 and CSS UI Design Concepts
      Web Services
      Industrial Communication protocols including OPC-UA and MQTT
      PLC programming concepts

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role is $130,200-158,900, and a salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan.
