We are seeking an exceptionally strategic and highly experienced Senior Manager to lead the financial planning and analysis function focused on Product Costing and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). This pivotal leadership role requires a blend of deep technical finance expertise in a manufacturing environment and proven managerial leadership.
You will own the end-to-end global product cost strategy and manage critical financial systems implementations. You will serve as the primary financial and strategic liaison between Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Executive Leadership, driving the organization's successful scale from R&D through global commercialization.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Strategic Cost Ownership: Define and lead the product costing strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals and profitability targets.
- Systems Ownership: Lead the finance stream of major digital transformation programs, specifically overseeing the design, implementation, and governance of the Product Costing and Bill of Materials (BOM) architecture within Global ERP (SAP) and PLM systems.
- Variance Management & Insight: Build & oversee the comprehensive analysis of production variances, establishing standardized reporting mechanisms for executive review and driving cross-functional accountability for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Contract Manufacturing Finance Partner: Establish and govern the strategic cost accounting and reporting framework for all newly formed Contract Manufacturing (CM) partnerships, ensuring consistent financial controls and high-integrity data flow for executive decision-making.
- Inventory Accounting Controls & Procedures: Partner closely with the Corporate Accounting team to design, standardize, and implement new inventory accounting controls and procedures across the global organization, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS and improving financial reporting accuracy.
- Own and evolve the cost accounting framework, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methodologies, to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide actionable insights for operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
- Lead the development, maintenance, and analysis of our Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Provide insightful financial analysis on product costs, manufacturing expenses, and profitability, working closely with cross-functional teams in operations and engineering.
What We Need to See:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Masters Preferred.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in a managerial or cost accounting role within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated, hands-on expertise with SAP, specifically with its integration to BOM, cost management, and manufacturing modules.
- Demonstrated, hands-on expertise with Enovia PLM or similar application.
- Extensive experience with systems implementation and process improvement, particularly with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) applications and their integration with ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both financial and non-financial partners.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building effective cross-functional relationships.

ONSITE:
- This position is required to work onsite 5 days per week to meet the minimum essential duties and requirements of this position. As an on-site R&D and manufacturing operations organization, in-person face to face interaction is essential to building authentic relationships, trust, teamwork, and collaboration.
Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role has a range of $123,600 to $188,500, and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
