Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead critical projects of QuantumScape's all-solid-state battery (ASSB) development, including
  • Develop large area all-solid-state battery stacks, maintaining up-to-date overall process flow
  • Manage materials/tool vendors, assist with budgeting and purchasing
  • Scale-up planning
  • Establish and track project timeline, craft the procedures used to guide projects from kick-off through successful completion
  • Be the point of contact for all things related to project execution. Help the team and suppliers stay organized and aligned throughout each project's lifecycle
  • Facilitate communication across multiple projects among different teams, including R&D teams, process teams, senior management, internal customers, and external contractors and service providers.
  • Be onsite for day-to-day interactions with engineers and technicians, and be in the trench with the team to deliver the products

 

Minimum Experience and Education:

  • Bachelors + 10 years of experience, Masters + 8 years of experience or PhD + 6 years of experience
  • PhD's degree or Masters degree in Materials Science/Chemical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Chemistry/Physics preferred
  • Solid background in electrochemistry and solid-state ion conductors
  • Hand-on experience in materials synthesis or device fabrication and characterizations
  • Knowledge of safe laboratory practices, especially in handling chemicals
  • Perform under pressure in an energized and a fast paced environment; love working in a team setting and capable of working independently
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills to logically communicate ideas and thought processes

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working in high volume battery development environments
  • Expertise in interface characterizations including both sample preparation and data analysis
  • Deep understanding in ceramic materials phase diagrams and solid-state ion conduction mechanisms
  • You are disciplined in your approach and rely on the application of statistical methods for experiment planning, data analysis, and process control

 

 

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role has a range of $161,000-210,000. Salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
