We seek to change the paradigm in energy storage by developing a completely new class of electrical energy storage device. The Quality Engineering team is responsible for establishing clean room compliance standards, measurement system analysis, and Gauge R&R process, IQC (incoming Quality Control) process, monitoring SPC for baseline processes, particle count inside clean/dry rooms, and ensuring that Process control plan, SOP, Traceability system, and process capability analysis are implemented.

 

Description:

QuantumScape is seeking a motivated Sr. Quality Engineer for our Quality Engineering team. You will be playing a vital role in ensuring that clean/dry rooms are compliant with clean room compliance protocols and standards, contributing to particle study and providing short term and long term solutions in mitigation of particle accumulation in the clean room environments, ensuring that documentation are controlled through the document control process, monitoring critical to quality specifications and ensure excursions and/or variations are being addressed through 8D process.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support quality engineering team on developing SOPs related to IQC, Clean Room Standards, GR&R, etc.

  • Support team on performing GR&R studies, clean room compliance audits, manual review, data collection, and data analysis, etc.

  • Support in annual calibration of Quality tools and equipment.

  • Support quality engineering team on document control requests from cross-functional team.

  • Provide continuous improvement ideas and solutions for process and clean room compliance.

  • Participate in excursion review discussions to learn about 8D methodology process.

  • Support in monitoring SPC chart for baseline processes.

  • Support in coordinating with area owners in providing clean room compliance solutions to resolve short term and long-term findings.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience in Engineering or a related field OR Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and the ability to utilize pivot tables and generate useful reports

  • Must have highly developed written and verbal cross-functional communication skills

  • Hands-on skills in Quality Engineering tools, such as Measurement system analysis, Gage R&R, SPC, Process control plan, SOP, traceability system, process capability analysis.

  • Take a disciplined approach which relies on the application of statistical methods for experiment planning, data analysis, and process control.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • JMP software experience preferred

  • Automotive Quality related certifications, IATF, CQE desired.  

  • Industry experience in lithium-ion batteries preferred.

This position is required to perform these above essential duties and responsibilities onsite at our QS offices. 

 

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role is between $97,000 and $147,900 and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan.
